This article outlines setting up Group Assignment folders. Group Assignment folders allow any member of a group to submit work to the Assignment folder for instructor evaluation. All group members will receive the same score on an evaluated submission.

If you have not already done so, create the desired groups. For more information on creating groups, see the Group Setup article.

Creating Group Assignment Folders

Navigate to the Assignment tool by clicking “Assessments" > Assignments" in the course navigation menu.

Create a new folder by clicking “New Submission Folder.”

Enter a name for the Dropbox and choose “Group submission folder” as the folder type. Select the group that you created from the “Group Category” list.

Continue setting up the Assignment folder as normal, including Grade items, Rubrics, and Restrictions.

User submissions will be categorized by group with the submitting user indicated to the right.

Note: Students will only see the Assignment folder for the group in which they are enrolled. There will be a small icon to the right of the folder to signal a Group Dropbox.
